Green energy is a huge goal for world to attain. It means specifically finding ways to get energy so people can continue to enjoy the same luxuries of technology–but without a negative impact to the environment. This kind of energy is sustainable and will not drain resources. It will cause minimal pollution and will, hopefully, be inexpensive. This can also reduce the dependence of countries on foreign oil.

With the growing concerns about global warming, rising oil and gas prices, and the increase in pollution in our air, water, and soil, governments from all over the world are now searching for ways to implement more renewable energy sources. The supply of fossil fuels is finite, and eventually the world’s non-renewable energy sources will be depleted so it has become essential to use green energy to create a sustainable future.

Pickens plan came with a huge promotion, but one year latter – what up? With money and power to boot the Texas billionaire and oilman T. Boone Pickens, through his energy company Mesa Power, placed an order for 667 1.5 megawatt wind turbines from General Electric in May, 2008; the $2 billion order was the largest of its kind ever made. But now he is rescinding his order.

With population growth and the constant doubling of demand for energy, we must take action to save power for as power becomes scarce, its price increases as we are now seeing. Now it is possible for an individual to produce their own energy that is pollution free. Solar power and wind power are the two leading do it yourself energy solutions that can be used to replace conventional energy sources.
It is amazing to think there is a clean source of energy available to us every day, just whispering through the trees and over fields. It is powered by the sun, but it is not solar energy – it’s wind energy!
Alternative energy seems to be all the rage today, but a lot of people have are unsure of what it is or have different definitions. I hope this article clears things up,
There are many alternative electricity sources particularly as the effect of burning fossil fuels damages the environment. Currently in the US about 50% of all electricity is from coal, 20% from nuclear power, 18% from natural gas, 6.5% from hydroelectric, 3 from petroleum and the rest about 2.3% from renewable energy sources. In all about 8% of all electricity is from renewable energy sources such as geothermal power, biomass, solar energy and wind power.
